Okay, okay, I'm getting the hang of it. My hands are really, really shaky, so even if I get a good angle on something, it can take me upwards of five tries to get a picture that's not a blurry mess.



In fact, I'm pretty sure this one took me more than five, and it's still not as good as it could've been.

I like to think Juan was a good guy at heart who was, unfortunately, consumed by his rivalry. In fact, I subscribe to the (incredibly depressing) idea that, when he found Celeste's body, he was coming down to apologise to her. I don't quite blame him for turning into a jerk - obviously, not everyone who's harassed by a jerk will become one, but some people WILL, and it's understandable. Also, I literally just thought of this, but maybe chewing on that straw was his way of coping with stress...?

As for Larry, he's a nice guy. I've, um, never though about him much, I'll admit... But I like him quite a bit in that affectionate "D'aww, he's such a loser" way... Erm. Yeah.

As for characters: one thing I've wondered about your opinions on: Shelly's opinion on Matt: what is it? Does he avoid having one, about all his clients, or did Matt particularly grate at him/move him in some manner? I wonder what the exchange was like between them when they set the deal up, personally.

You could always talk to me about Juan/Matt fruckbuddemy-ness, too. (It's what happens when frenemies become fuckbuddies.)

I do like to imagine Shelly avoids judging his clients beyond the necessary "should I trust him/does he trust me," so any opinions he allowed himself to have on Matt were probably formed after he knew of the tape (and I shouldn't have to say what they were - it's pretty clear that he doesn't think very highly of traitors. "Stench" is a pretty harsh word to apply to a person and I guess I like to note minor things like that because I'm in Languages?

However, after reading this fic (http://community.livejournal.com/gyakuten_saiban/157453.html#cutid1), one of the first that I read, I believe, I can't help but entertain the idea that Shelly was rather "B|" at Matt from the beginning. And speaking of that, I wonder about how their meetings went too! I mean, Shelly says he's never been betrayed before, so presumably he's good at telling who to do business with, and Matt still fooled him. Did he use his airhead façade for that purpose, or did he show him his true self while omitting his whole "PEOPLE ARE JUST TOOLS, MAN" side? I'd really love to see someone's take on this.

Also, know that I instantly tried to pronounce "fruckbuddemies" when I read it, and while my rational side still tells me hatesex is an odd, even unrealistic premise, Matt/Juan is one of my guilty pleasures.

Franziska is a spoiled brat, no doubt about that - but there's also a good side to her. Er, somewhere. I mean, if there wasn't, she'd just have dumped Adrian the moment a misinformed dick shot her in the shoulder, and she would most definitely have not let Edgeworth pass for a defence attorney. Hell, it's been a while since I've played 3-5, but I seem to recall that she was being minimally helpful behind her open animosity.

... Plus, you know, she only whipped someone to unconsciousness once, even if, logically speaking, she should have killed someone already, and that was because she was coping with her first defeat!

I think we're both of the opinion that Shelly lives for his profession and his name, right? So... I guess I take that to mean he thinks that the meaning of life is something you have to find, either by yourself or with someone's help. Basically: find what you want to do ---> do that, and do it damn well. And you'd better do it well, because you'll definitely be dead some day (oh, how aware he must be of that) and there wouldn't be much point if you didn't do something worthwhile while you could.
